On the Martyrdom of Ali Larijani, Secretary of the National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran

 

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Harare expresses its profound sorrow and deepest condolences to the noble people of Iran on the martyrdom of Mr. Ali Larijani, Secretary of the National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who was assassinated in a state-terrorist act committed by the US-Zionist coalition on 17 March 2026.

Mr. Larijani, a distinguished politician who dedicated many years to the service of his nation in various capacities, was tragically targeted alongside his son in a residential neighborhood. This act of violence constitutes a grave violation of fundamental principles of international law and human rights.

While this cowardly attack has caused immense grief, it will not weaken the resolve of the Iranian nation. Rather, it reinforces its determination to stand firm against injustice, oppression, and acts of aggression. Such incidents only strengthen the collective commitment to resilience, dignity, and national sovereignty.

Mr. Larijani played a notable role in advancing regional stability, dialogue, and mutual understanding. He was widely regarded as a proponent of moderation, diplomacy, and constructive engagement.
